I'm doing a large mechanical overhaul on my FE and was considering fitting an anti-sway bar. I know the pros but not sure of the cons if trying to do this. Particularly with the type of springs on the car now. I would also like to get the rear leaf springs reset but have heard this can be problematic. Is it worth doing and can anyone recommend someone that resets springs in Sydney or Hunter Valley please?

Dumbrells springs at wallsend did mine and a few other sets highlly recomended.

A rear sway bar can make older models very oversteery. Particularly in the wet, more so if the springs have been beefed up. With heavier springs and decent shocks I don't see the need for a rear sway bar.

Gday Ken

Nice set of uplift springs you have there, don't throw em away if you do get your springs reset, they are getting harder to find

I can't help with a recommendation, but depending on what you want to do, you can fit Wagon Ute or Van springs if you want it to be firmer

Thanks everyone. I've seen Dumbrells there at Wallsend Pete. Just wasn't sure how successful resetting was in terms of a lasting solution. Sounds like it might be worth talking to them. Cheers Gary - those springs will definitely stay on the car.

Dumbrells reset all of the springs on the smashed & rolled over trucks when I worked at National Truck Repairs.
Never had a problem.

I just rang Dumbrels and spoke to the fellow there re getting my springs reset.
He said that there was no guarantee that the reset would hold after being reset.
Hoon how are yours and when did you get them done. They gave a price of $120 per spring and could also do up a set of new ones but could not give me a price till he saw the springs.
Also, what height to I tell him to reset the springs to??? as this was one of the questions that he asked.  Is that the same for the wagon as the sedan cos I will get them both done at the same time!

Thanks guys, the FE I bought recently has Pedders suspension throughout. I noticed I had a front sway bar but no rear sway bar and had thought about installing one. The back suspension is very heavy/firm and the car doesn't have a lot of body roll. Having now read this thread, particularly colts comment, I will probably now leave things as they are.
