Just wondering how much load is too much for my generator in my 59 fc.
In preparation of fitting an old supercharger I have had to install a 14 inch ice thermo fan,(amps unknown)
and a MSD ignition control ( draws 6 amps) and my amps gauge is heading around 25 at revs.(battery is good)
After a 15 min drive my generator was very hot to touch,
What sort of load are some of you guys happily putting through your generators
I still have to fit an electric water meth pump.
I didn't really want to fit an alternator and have managed to hide all the other electronic junk associated with fitting the supercharger.

Thanks in advance, Gary.

Gary,

I run an alternator on the grey in my FJ there are the alternators that look like generators for flathead fords, mate any chance of the details with the engine/supercharger setup. I run triple strombergs on a mild grey and while it works well I've looked at SC14 superchargers for something different.
A picture would be great as well Wink

Thanks Mick, you can see a couple of pics of my supercharger in General Technical in subject Norman Supercharger.
I don't really know much about the subject but some guys here on the forum know a bit.
My manifolds are nearly complete so hopefully will post some pics next week when its all under the bonnet.
Thing is, starting to wonder is it all worthwhile considering the "snowball" effect fitting this thing has created.
(my missus reckons this ain't no snowball this is an avalanche!)
If it ever runs I'll let you know.
Gary.
