Hi all,

At the risk of sounding thick, could someone direct me as to where the definitive engine number for a 59 FC can be found? I'm seeing a stamped number on the block which doesn't seem to correspond to anything (the FC club's id guide, or indeed the RTA!).
I'm obviously missing something very obvious . i can find all the other numbers (the id plate on the firewall, and the chassis no. which is stamped on the engine bay over the driver's side guard).
Help! I'm feeling a bit stupid!
Thanks again everyone

Look on the side the Steering columns on , Near the distributor there is a small flat bank with numbers stamped into it , It may need a clean to find it , depending on your engine bays condition. If its a grey motor , FC original it should start with a L ,
