does anyone know the difference between fc and fb grey motors.regards jeff
Hi Jeff,
FE and FC engines have an "L" prefix for the engine number. The first FE engine number began at L283373. The first FC engine number began at L439507 and concluded at approximately L640000
FB engine numbers began at B1001 and continued through the EK range with a B prefix. EJ engine numbers commenced with J1001
Internally FC engines were of a 3.00" Bore, and displaced 132.5 cubic inches, the FB were a 3.0625 bore (3 and 1/16 inches) and displaced 138 cubic inches.
As the grey motor evolved, casting techniques improved.
I hope that this has helped answer your question
