I am currently trying to track down my father's 1957? FE Holden Special Sedan with rare Detroit stripe; colour being Indian Ivory over Fountain Blue(?) with ivory spats and sun visor, with 2 bumper mounted lights one being a driving light, the other a fog light, bonnet mascot, interior seats were two-toned similar to exterior of car. The car was last seen in Armidale, NSW in 1968 where it was traded in. The date it was traded was 4/3/68. Unsure what dealer (maybe Frank Rowe ford or Woodward & Purkiss both now defunct). At the time of trade it had its original motor with one cylinder dry sleeved to original size. (engine no: L427332) It is possible the car has since been wrecked or written off as many were or is now out of district but if anyone knows its whereabouts or possibly history of anyone who may have known it since my father owned it I'd like to know. Mileage at the time of trade was approx. 60 - 80 thousand miles. Number Plate: BMU 459 (NSW)
Please email me at marktmand@yahoo.com.au with any info.

Hey Mark.
Car looks great.
The plate is available from the RTA, so the car no longer has the same rego if it is still on the road.
Regards
Alex
