How are you going with it all?  Roll Eyes

I seem to be getting more confused as I go along ha ha.  Tongue

So I bought another car, now i have 1 stocky and 1 custom, but that might prove to be an issue now with my timeframes.

253>286 253>310  perhaps you could stroke the 253. The new laws prevent going any bigger that 4.4l for fe/fc as it sounds talking to a few engineers, so as long as you dont drive it on road u could have a 286 or 310 motor  Roll Eyes

This is something i may even look into now. there are 253's laying around in paddocks everywhere. I suppose it depends on budget, but at least you could get it all together and legal and think about doing the stroker later and its still a 253  Cheesy

COME racing and others do a stroker kit for the 253 to 310.  It also involves die grinding the lower block for clearance for the longer rods.  I was thinking of building a 253 to the "little league" specs Street Machine did some years ago.

Gordon I have a few photos of various things.  just email me of you want any specific ones.

Cheers

HI been moving to a bigger garage,on afternoon shift now things are slow ,For a novice like myself to rebuild a car is very confusing and its a lot to take in, Just have to take it one step at a time.Have all the parts now car, commo diff and brakes, the 253 and trimatic,hr front end,HG steering column(hope it works). The hardest thing i think is staying motivated even if it takes years

I think everyone has their way of doing a resto. People sometimes think i am strange  Shocked for doing a bit of everything rather than say 1. cut rust out in chassis 2. fix body 3. da da da, whatever is the normal way or the way a magazine displays a build, but I find I actually havent done an engine for a while  Undecided, so I might get stuck in for a few weeks stripping and measuring and inspecting a few engines Grin, then rebuild the old front end out of 1 car and have it ready for the taxi to slip in  Wink and then i might just clean up bolts  Sad, so I try to mix it up a bit. Sometimes labouring on 1 task can be a bit boring. Everyone has a certain personality. I find my mood at the time makes a hell of a difference and some days u know u shouldnt touch the thing at all! Angry

Stick at it though. I have had resto's not long ago that i aborted and wished I had of been more realistic and had done it without pressuring myself.
