Rear door 1/4 glass removal.

I have disassembled my rear doors, with the exception of the 1/4 glass and channels. I was surprised to find that these are riveted in.

I am assuming that to remove the rear 1/4 glass and channels one must drill the rivets out, which then raises the question of what rivets go back in place, are they then screwed in, or pop rivets or otherwise.

I would like to retain the most original look, even though this is  a modified vehicle. Can anyone shed any light on this one?

I removed mine for rechroming, I then reattached them with countersunk stainless pop rivets.  Just ensure that the rivets are the right length ie. not to long and they dont look bad at all.

I use a small aluminium rivet which looks exactly like original. A bit fiddly to peen the end over, but it does keep the original look.
