Hi,

Im getting close to colouring my motor nice and perty..

i plan to use 2 pak.

Q1)  will it stand up to heat on rocker covers, engine block, inlet manifold etc?

Q2)  Do i use etch and 2 pack straight over to eliminate paint build up?

Q3)  Do I clear over the top of it?

Thanks, your help is appreciated.

Hi Ed
The 2 pak will be fine for all of the motor.
I used etch primer then 2 pak Hi Fill , colour coat then clear over the top, then baked the whole lot with a heater. It looked really nice straight off the gun and lasted for many years.
Cheers

Two Pack Paint is definately the way to go, the last engine that I did for a Street Rod, we deburred the block and head first, then etch primed, painted and clear coated it. We baked it for about two hours and it looked like the engine was made of glass. It is a lot of work, but worth it if you are going the show car route.

Hi to all, Smiley
I also have painted my motors in the past with 2 pack and lasted perfectly. I am just wondering if anyone has painted there motors with normal acrylic, and how they lasted down the track.
