Was it a standard practice to use the leftovers from FE.

I like the look of the FE emblem a lot more than the FC but why is it there ? After all the car is an FC 58 model

Hi Harko
I have also had a couple of FCs with FE bonnet emblems.
I think they must have been put on at a later date.

There's also quite a few FEs getting around with FC mascots on their bonnets.  Maybe personal preference, maybe the result of a replacement bonnet.  It certainly wasn't standard practice to use leftovers as I understand it.  That doesn't mean it never happened but it's more common to see FC bits and pieces appearing on the very last FEs.  Graham Fuller's FE is like this - it has rubber mats in the back rather than carpet, and was like that since new.  I think Cat's car might be the same.

There's a whole heap of little things deleted or changed on the FC to cut costs - GMH wanted to release the FC at the same price as the FE, so a few things were trimmed.  The replacement of the bonnet button and surrounding die-cast trim with the 6 letters is one example of this.  The aforementioned carpet is another, as is the deletion of boot-lining and the front number plate surround.  Also the proper door-pull armrests were replaced with the much cheaper versions on the FC.  They had to pay for those die-cast fins somehow! Wink
cheers
