Hi all,

I am looking at dropping a red 202 from an LC Torana into my FC, which has a HR disc front end.

Would there be any obvious problems with dropping it in? My concern would be the sump fouling on the crossmember. The motor that is currently in the FC is a red 186. Can I just swap the sump over? My concern with this is that the 202 is a newly built hotty, whereas the 186 is warm, but perhaps a bit tired - will the old sump affect the new motor?

Kind regards,

Josh

That all depends, I did the same thing with my FE, I had a hottie 202 in an LJ Torana that I swapped my deep pan gated sump for a standard EH unit. Never had a problem with the motor or any oiling issues.

Josh just change the sump and pickup and you will have no drama I have done this with every engine from 138 red to 3.3 black ........FC427.....

Thanks for your input guys - I'll swap the sump that's on the 186 to the 202.

Cheers,

Hi all,

In addition to the above post, the motor comes with Pacemaker extractors. Although they may have fitted in the Torana, I believe that they won't fit in the FC, unless they hug the block. Is this true?

Kind regards,

Josh
