Hi all,

I've found a HR front end that I want to buy but need some tech advice before I do.

It came out of a EH so has been midified to suit. The engine mounts have been moved back, is this the same for the FC?

It also has a set of HT disks fitted, they look the same as the HR, maybe a bit thicker, is there any problems fiiting these as well?

Thanks

If it's got an EJ/EH outrigger then it's exactly what you want.  Check out Ken's excellent Tech Info article on the subject.

As far as the disks are concerned, HTs had 14" wheels, and I thought the disks were wider in diameter to suit, so gut-feeling says 13" HR rims aren't going to fit (and original FE/FC ones certainly won't).  I've only ever used HR f/e and HR wheels, so someone else can probably give you a definitive answer on that.

cheers

I ran 14" HK-T-G rims with the same set up.  Volvo rims also fit.

Current change being made is to run HQ stubs, rotors and calipers to allow much better brakes and far better range of wheels (HQ to Commodore).  Will also add modified Commodore diff (or redrilled axles) to keep the pattern the same all round.
