Hi everyone,

My partner and I are getting married in March, and are having a hard time finding the perfect car for the day.

Ive always loved vintage holdens, and as the wedding is a 1930s themed wedding, want something a little different. Haven't had much luck in finding the type of car I want through car-hire places. We're also on a hudget, and can't afford the $800+ they're asking for...

If you have a vintage holden you'd be willing to hire for the afternoon on easter Saturday next year (primarilly for transport less for a 5 minute drive from the hotel in Brisbane city to the venue on Wharf Street) and photos, wed be willing to pay for your time and petrol.

If you could email me pictures and a price, I would really appreciate it!

Sorry,

Our cars are not covered to do weddings by the Historic rego or the insurance. That is part of why the hire cars cost so much.

The sticker says "I'd rather push my Ford than drive a Holden". I agree, I'd rather they pushed their Ford than drive MY Holdens!

Leon,

Let's not hijack the lady's thread, but in fact use of privately owned cars for wedding hire is only permitted when they're on club plates in NSW.

Alana,

As someone else alluded, the timing of your wedding is unfortunately when the premier event for FE and FC Holdens will be occurring at Mt Gambier. That's not to say every car from Brisbane will be there, but it will certainly reduce the available pool of cars.

Check out http://www.holden.org.au , http://www.shannons.com.au and http://www.rarespares.net.au , as well as Unique Cars magazine. All have listings of club contacts, and you might find some additional leads to chase up in the Brisbane area.

cheers
