i got my vt donor car running today (pored fuel down intake  Grin) it runs with fuel down its throat but will only idle ruffly on its own supply, it has sat empty for about two years so would it be the : pump, filter (cant find it) or the injectors. D all the above any help would be good so i cant strap it round the paddock (with our 70s BMW)

Most likely injectors.  Is it old fuel in the tank or new fuel?  It wont like running on 2 year old fuel.

was new fuel in it but it might have sat with fuel in it.

Looks like its getting a 650dp holley bolted to the top of it. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy its probably easyer than cleaning/replacing inlectors Huh

When you turn the key on initailly, can you hear the fuel pump prime at the rear of the car. The pump and surge pot are one and the same located in the plastic fuel pump at the back of the VT. Next will be the relay under the bonnet that will need checking to see whether or not the pump has power.
I have has these sort of troubles in the Van. Still trying to get it right.

Hope this helps a little
Jason.
