Dear Richard

The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia is postponing its proposed activities on September 11 in Canberra.

We would still like to have a line up of classic cars for Fathers Day 5 at Sydney Olympic Park on September 3 (from 9.30am) so if you would like to be involved please contact Wendy Farrow directly on

02 9437 0688 or 0439 780 728 or email wendy@prostate.org.au and you will be provided with logistics information.

We are seeking at least 40 vehicles – the new Holden is being launched so Holden classic cars would be of special interest.
There are limited positions and these will be allocated on a “first come – first serve” basis so please contact me by August 22 if you wish to attend. All line up vehicles will be given a free goody bag and Fathers Day 5 medal.

Please call me if you require more information.

If you are unable to be involved on September 3 but are interested in other suitable events – please register your interest with Wendy using the contact details above. Please forward this email to others who may be interested.

Thank you for your interest and support of our cause.

Prostate cancer

* More than 12,000 men and their families feel the impact of diagnosis of prostate cancer each year in Australia

* More than 2700 men each year will lose their lives to prostate cancer

* So today, as about 32 men learn news that they have prostate cancer - tragically one man every three hours will lose his battle against this insidious disease

* One in 10 men on average will develop prostate cancer by the age of 75 years

* Today, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in Australian men and is the second most common cause of cancer deaths in men

* Early, curable prostate cancer may not have symptoms. While younger men are less likely to be diagnosed with it, they are more likely to die prematurely from it.

* Simple testing by a GP can indicate cancer.
