i did the tappets today on my motor and when i was done started it up,and i can not see any oil coming up to the top of the motor.
i undid the copper line and there is a small amount getting through, also it has an oil filter fitted and it is pumping a good amount of oil into the top of the filter, but it is not coming out the bottom. :-/
what do you think, oil pump stuffed or what.

Check that your oil filter is not blocked, the tube up the centre of the filter housing should have a small hole in it about an inch from the top.  You may have dislodged some crud whilst the motor was apart that has passed through the filter and blocked the hole.  Easy way to tell is to bypass/disconnect the filter and see if it makes a difference to your oil pressure.

Also if your oil pressure light is not glowing then your pump should be making the required pressure (30 -40psi?) so it would not be your pump.

This assumes you are running a grey motor. Wink

took the oil filter of made no diff, hooked the oil gauge up and have nil reading.
so will have to do the oil pump, now how hard is it to do in car,or is it better to take the motor right out.
