Saw a couple of panel vans today at a clearing sale in Kangaroo Flat (Bendigo). Both totally cactus (my opinion only - apologies if you bought one!) but rare nevertheless.

The first was advertsied as a genuine PMG van:

this is the ID plate:

the numbers appear to be body FC2104-510-7218A
trim S.8-769
paint 253-9751
then 333 down the bottom

chassis number was (I think) FC46593M

the other was an FE van, all identifying marks long gone:

FE went for $130, FC for $150 (plus GST!)

Cool pics Jonno,
I think any FE Van is worth saving  Wink even if you might have nothing to work with.... Tongue how bad was the rust inside..

Nick...yours is pristine compared to these babies! The FE in particular kind of just 'blended' into the ground it was stood on..

here's the interior of the FE van although I must say it looks WAY better in this photo than in the flesh:

interesting floor shift?

there was not a lot left under the bonnet.

Hmmm, van knackered, but I would have paid that for the plate.

These cars were both at Brett Styles Wrecking yard in Bendigo.  The FC is genuine PMG van - you can still see patches of the red paint.  Has been discussed at length at the Vic club meeting. Thought it may go for more than that.
I offered him a substantial amount for the ID plate about 3 years ago and he wouldn't take it.  He said it was worth way more than that and that someone would restore the thing one day.  My opinion agrees with yours that it is too far gone.

The FE van has had the ID plate removed and it was sold to a current club member who is recreating the FE van in the sales brochure complete with the sign writing on the side.  It will be at the next Nats.
Once again the van is stuffed and beyond saving.
