I am running crs dropped spindles with HQ discs and commodore r&p. I am using standard HQ rims with 185/65/14 tyres. The problem im having is that the tyres are fouling the guards when turning but the inside of the tyre is fouling the steering arms even with the arms fitted with 15mm spaces.  I have aset of p76 discs to fit but what do i do about the arms? The arms are the ones supplied by crs

The problem im having is that how far can you space the arms off the stub axles when i narrow the track?

Just to add to Torque’s comment.

If you change to the P76 rotors, they will move the track inboard by roughly 1” each side.  Additionally, the P76 rotor is Ford stud pattern.  If you would like to retain the HQ pattern, you will need new blank DBA rotors and have a reputable brake/engineering shop (eg. Hoppers Stoppers) re-stud them.  My old FC runs a similar set up with the same size tyre and CRS spindles but utilising Torana brakes.  The point is that guard clearance is obtained by moving the rim inboard so that the steering arm is spaced off the spindle by almost 30mm (I think its 30mm from memory, it may even be more but Harko could give you an accurate measurement).  This gives approximately a finger widths guard clearance at its closest point (this car does sit very low though and the guard lip has been rolled).  My current FC uses two sets of CRS spacers to back the steering arm off enough for tyre clearance – but in this case I am using a 195/50/15.

Craig, try HQ stubs. This will bring the steering arm higher.
What works for me is,
HT stubs
P76 discs plus fitting kit
CRS altered HR steering arms
CRS front mounted LH Torana rack
14x5 rims
14x185x70 rubber
HZ V8 callipers
               "What didnt work for me  was",
CRS drop spindles
HQ discs

Thanks for your help Chuck & kma. With your wheels kma did you have the centre turned out to suit the larger diameter hub on the p76 or hub turned down to suit wheel

Craig,

If you fit the P76 Rotors and keep their original stud pattern,my brother in law has four AUIII 16" rims with very good 225/50/16 tyres - I saw them today as I collected the station wagon.  I think that they may suit your car.
