Hey Guys,
Looking to put a remote oil filter on the old grey, just a few questions.
Is the original filter cartridge re useable.
Are there any other aftermarket systems avaliable.

Cheers Smiley

Hi Deano,
The cartridge is not reusable. As to other systems not really I have seen a custom built full flow system which looked great but was not available as an option.

well.....

whilst at hanging rock this year i noticed one of the club cars from the fb-ek club had an interesting setup, maybe soomeone else has seen the car or a similar setup.

it was a slightly worked grey motor. where the fuel pump is usually mounted there was an oil pump, and there was a electric fuel pump mounted somewhere else. to me it seemed like a great idea but i am not sure of where the kit was bought and/or if it was off another type of car

Torque,
I think this is the same car I saw it at the FB EK nationals last year. The guy made it himself.
Cheers,

I saw a nice full flow filter setup on a FJ at the Wheels Expo in Canberra earlier this year. Essentially the outlet from the oil pump was re-routed out a new hole drilled in the block, through a remote mounted full flow filter and back into the motor at the oil pressure sender. I thought it would be fiendishly complex but the owner reckoned it was actually pretty straightforward. I have pics if someone will post them for me (one day I'll work out how to do it myself).
