What does a slow return of the clutch pedal indicate?

Could be a number of things Geoff.
Might be a gunked up master cylinder or slave cylinder or the flexible hose might be starting to collapse inside. The pressure plate might be on the way out or it might be the overcentre adjustment on the pedal spring has come loose.

My mate had the exact same problem on his FC.  I kept telling him it needed looking at... then the slave cylinder went and he was stranded.  remedy was new master, new slave new hoses.
