Now that I've learnt how to post pictures:

This came out of Modern Motor magazine, June 1958.  Dunno if it belongs here or under "Other Images".  This will do.

This is only a problem on the very early FE's where the lid was not a 2 piece construction.  Asa result of a lot of warranty claims, Holden introduced a double panneled lid which fixed the problem.  I have one of these early caps, but it is the only one I have ever seen.

If anyone has one of theses caps, let us know,  you have a fairly rare item.   And no, they are not the same as the ones off an old one gallon petrol tin
