It sounds like Darren Supple's old car, that was sold to a bloke in the Romans Hot Rod Club about 8 years ago.  As far as I know it only ever had a red in it.  Went like the powers of piss tho Roll Eyes

It was 58 style with red front and white rear, and had a mural of a rockabilly dude leaning against a Wurlitzer juke box on the back.  From memory it was on the right hand side, but I could be wrong...  Darren had it done whilst we were down in Adelaide for the '91 Nationals, by a mate of a guy in the SA Club.  Like a drunken tattoo episode Grin

It was a nice car in its time, that's for sure.  We had it as one of our wedding cars, along with Alex's car (that still had scallops in those days and flat black paint), Gertie (who got us to the church on time and without failing to proceed), and the Zig-mobile.  Ahh memories....

cheers

RET,
What about posting a pic or two of the wedding cars (if you don't mind!) for the newer members of the forum?  Sounds like a nice lineup of machines

Cheers, Shayne

G'day guys...
I'm not really sure, but I think RET and COL58FE might be talking about different cars. I'm not sure about the number plates though...

I think I know the one Richard means.... I still see it around Engadine way every now and again (last weekend heading South). It is also a regular at the Heathcote Swap meets each year so Alex might have a pic. I'm pretty sure I've got a pic somewhere at home (which I'll have a look for when I get home). I've heard the owner does own other rods too, so could be in the Romans.... again Alex might be able to help out there I imagine. And it still has the old FE/FC club sticker on the back window.... so it could be Darren's old car.... definately was a memeber of the club at some stage though.

I'm pretty confident it doen't have a V8 (but will stand corrected)... it looks like a cross of original and hot... has spats, venitians and a fair amount of other original accessories along with that mural and it looks slightly lowered too...

Hope that helps..... until we see more pics....
Cheers

The 2 cars a definately different cars.
Darrens old car has the cool dude and jukebox with the words "still Cruizin" next to it. Always had red motor and was built by Darren and his Dad, Ross. The car is now owned by Neil Harlow, for about 10 years now. It's his daily driver. Neil also owns a beautiful blue 36 Ford roadster and a red with flames 38 Ford sedan, and is a member of my other club, The Romans.
BTW, Neil built the super cool 2tone blue wagon that is now owned by Ray McDonald in our club. Neil built this car for his daughter, but she unfortunately passed away a few years ago at the age of 21.

Alex posted a pic a long time ago of the wedding cars.  On his starphoto site I could only find one of them - his car, not Darren's.

I have a copy at home in a frame, but not a digital one.

cheers

The car you have just purchased sound's a lot like a FC that use to get around Coburg Melbourne Victoria in the late 80's. Red and white FC sedan with a 350 chev under the bonnet. Bloody thing went like a cut cat and looked great too.
