Can anyone tell me how far the "Standard FC Steering Wheel" should be away from the dashboard, as I believe mine is not standard and is far to close to me, can someone give me a measurement and two reference points to go by.
Many Thanks
Mick

Mick,

I remember looking at your car and I'm sure it's FC.

Here's a picture from when it was for sale, and it looks like FC to me. Bring it to the meeting on Tuesday and you can find out for sure.

Cheers,

Craig.

hi just-mick,i to thought i was going to have that problem, but someone already changed it to ek which are shorter.only problem is if you have long leg's as i do they will spread like an eagle as you drive, because with the standard wheel it line's up and come's down between ya knee's.(close to ya) or (away and spread like an eagle) both not comfy but that's the choice.about 150mm shorter than fe/fc from bottem of dash mount.sorry i can't recall the length of the fe/fc colum though.hope it help's ;)COL58FE Cool

Craig,
Cant bring to meeting as 2 doors off at the moment due to "rusty the FC wrecker". I know from the FC's in my youth that the wheel is out quite some way from the dash, but this one does seem "way out" and a couple of people "FJ + FB drivers" have commented the same + in my non mechanical mind i thought that as its had a "HR" front end put in maybe something has been changed.

mick   if you measure from the bracket on the column (the 1 that fixes it to the under side of dash) along column to back of steering wheel, you should get figure of approx 360mm if its fc
             hope it makes sense

Trev,
My measurements are exact same as you gave me. I will never listen to an FJ or FB driver again
