Removing them is easy and can be DIY. Getting the damn things back in again is a black art. I have profound respect for Sir Jim the (retired) Windscreen Magician.

If you are going to the drama of removing the screens, its a damn good idea to invest in a new windscreen rubber(s). This means you can butcher the old ones to get the screens out. Some careful cutting with a Stanley knife removes most of the tension. Put a blanket over the bonnet/boot to catch the glass if things go pear-shaped. Sit on the front seat, and gently ease out the screen by pushing with your feet. Have your handy helper catch the glass - this is a two-man job. Push from one side first, then work across the screen.

Cheers,
Harv

Can only praise Gentleman Jim ..I took my screens to him ,getting them out wasn't too hard ,only to find the rear screen rubber was the early faulty one ,so Rares did the right thing ,I have the correct one and an appointment again with Jim come put back time...cheers Vern ..he is south west Sydney ..
