Are there different types of harmonic balancers.
Mine does not have a thread to use the cox head installer tool I just bought. Huh

Nick,

Yes, there are different types of harmonic balancer.  The factory ones have the thread to suit the installer tool you've just bought.  But the aftermarket replacement types, which resemble the red motor harmonic balancers, don't have the internal thread.  Yours is an aftermarket replacement.  Instead, use a block of hardwood and a Big Hammer to drive the balancer firmly but gently home.
