Could anyone please advise whether the clip or the spring assembly should face the brake back plate.

The photos in the repair manual looks like the retaining clip faces the backing plate. Is this correct?

I took a photo before disassembly which showed the opposite to the above?

Any advise would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

David

the clip faces the backing plate and spring goes outwards otherwise the spring assembly pushes the shoes off the backing plate.
