need to paint the scuff plates for the wagon want something that is going to last and not scratch up to quickly
last time l just put some black enamel on but found that dragging your feet over the door opening wore it out in places
don't want to chrome and I'm not worried about original , just need something in black that won't come off as easy

jim l thought about por15 what is the finish like on the black
is it a high gloss or more of a milky black
l could use the por15 for some other items under the car
its just that the scuff plates are what everyone can see want something presentable

There's are glossy and matte versions of POR-15. My steering wheel is painted with it, and it's pretty hard-wearing stuff.

I used two pack and after 3 years of use there are no scratches. tough as. The colour I chose was a light grey that looks very close to the original cad plating. Can give you the colour and post a photo if required.

Another idea used by a forum member was to wrap in black vinyl, actually looked really good.

so many choices
l might go with the 2pk black ,only because l have some here in the shed
then go something harder if l don't get enough wear out of it
the ceramic sounds good, whats the cost like on four scuff plates ?
luckily the scuff plates can be removed from the car easily so l will trial a few ideas

Greg, I did mine in 2pak black gloss and they came up a treat. Will probably powder coat them next time, but the paint is wearing well so far. Graeme

Greg I had a number of parts ceramic coated at the same time (side plate, water pump and thermo housing etc) so could not work out how much for the scuff plates alone. Give your local agent a call. They will never rust out.
