Posting on here to see if there is any interest before putting up for sale.
1958 FE SPECIAL SEDAN.
I Have had this car garaged for 20 years hoping to do up,circumstances change and unfortunately I have to let it go.
It is as original as I got it 20 years ago of a old lady who was the original owner.
Since owning his car it has been repainted in original color, this was done 18 years ago and needs redoing.
Has no brakes as they were disconnected so I could move it as they were ceased.
I am sure some parts on the front end need replacing.
The old grey motor still kicks over with a little petrol down the carby,a bit smokey to start but hums along.
Still has that old ver smell when you open the door.
Floor panels were replaced 18 years ago and one of the headlight surrounds as well.
This car is unmolested and no major rust,a little surface rust but very minimal.
69,000 miles on the clock.
I was hoping to get $15,000 for it but am open to offers or opinions.
I can be contacted via email on shaneh@alohapools.com.au or 0431241485.
Photos can be sent if requested.

Hally, do yourself a favour and post some pics, people will only speculate and err on the side of caution (or post smart-arse remarks) when providing opinions on a text based description.
Get onto http://www.photobucket.com or http://www.tinypic.com to upload photos then post the links here.

I agree with your original honest opinion Fink, especially now having seen the photos. I don't believe your post was disrespectful or "smart arse", just an informed opinion from someone who has been dealing with early Holdens for a long time.
Cheers Ole.

As per my original post some items to clear up,paint is not bad an and good to leave as is,only requires touch ups here and there due to being in storage and knocked a bit.
Car mileage is 69,000 miles not 169,000 miles,I know this for a fact as car was purchased from my fathers old boss whose mother owned the car and used it as a shopping cart.
When I got the car the plastic was still on the seat from original.
The price I suggested was looking at other cars around that era and condition.
I appreciate all comments and opinions that have been posted and it has made me more aware of the history of the car.

Thanks Hally, can you confirm that this is the original colour of the car? A shot of the ID plate or just write down what's written on it would be fine.

Car is now sold,a big thank you to all the opinions of price, maybe your estimates were a bit low as sold for close to asking price.
Maybe the prices of these cars are increasing and some people may to reevaluate their price guide.
Once again thank you to the experts.

well looks like your lucky day then huh...as I said to a well known Holden guy that just sold a silver mink HK GTS for $80k after I told him it was worth only $50k. I said " must be 2 morons more on this planet than I thought, one moron for asking $80k, and a bigger moron for paying it". his response was "worth that all day"... my response was "well then 3 fkn morons then..." he walked away in a huff mumbling....

moral of the story is that there is always a bum for each seat.

PS. I heard the Monaro sale fell through, guy bought it sight unseen just with an album of pics sent to him, flew over and when sighted it, didn't think it was worth the $80k he agreed on, offered the seller $50k...

looks like I was right all along
