Hi guys,
recently I did a google search for Cool Daddy FC Holden,
I came across a question someone named COL58FE had asked on your forums way back in 2004 about a car he called Daddy Cool,
The reason I was searching this name was because Cool Daddy was my car,
I bought it way back in 1984 off a guy in Bulleen Victoria,
It had a red donk in it and Hr front end with torana discs,
Later in its life about a year or so,
I put in a 307 Chev and Powerglide
SAAS racing seats and had the name Cool Daddy written on the boot,
reason for the name was simple
the car felt like it was bopping along to Daddy Cool one night
during the song where it goes
"Rock Cool Daddy, Honky Tonky Daddy"
Now the guy who asked about the car wanted pictures of it,
I will include those,
The conversion was not legal but was professional,
McDonald Bros in Coburg did the mounts and Floor Hump,
Performance Exhaust also in Coburg, did the extractors and exhaust system,
engine was offset slightly so as standard steering could be used,
Rear axle wasn't touched and still had FC Holden Drums on it,
These eventually wore through and so I removed completely the rear braking system,
thats right completely, there was rim to axle to axlehousing,
you could look through one rim right through to other side of car,
It done a mean burnout as you just jumped on both pedals and hung on,
The timing chain eventually gave way and I gave up,
I had spent so much money on the car that I literally couldn't afford to spend another cent,
I advertised the car in the Age and some guys came and bought it,
I think they were from Fawkner,
They were taking the car to Johnny Taverners to have work done,
for those that don't know,
Taverners made drag cars among other things,
The last I saw my old car was sitting in the front yard or Taverners workshop one afternoon,
I decided to search for it on the slim chance it was still getting about,
I don't know how to attach the hotos any help here would be appreciated, thanks guys

Hey sparra.
Welcome to the forum.
Interesting story on what sounds like an interesting FC.
I recall seeing a pic in the past, a magazine I think.
Would be interested to see if what is in my memory matches your car.
Happy to post the pics for you if you email them to me.
custom@internode.on.net
Looking forward to the pics and further recollections.

yeah thanks Fink,
I never met John but knew of his Camira drag car and knew where his workshop was,
as for the search, I know it was a long shot anyway,
we'll never know if mine is same car anyway will we, because surely it would have been cleaned up and repainted,
but mine was a beast and we had fun
cheers guys
