Hi everyone.. im looking to put my fc shell on a homemade rotisserie in the next couple of days..
What mounting points should I use? I am not separating the k-frame from the body..

Thanks ed.  How did you know how far to extend the pivot point up to balance the car while its rotating? |

With the ute, I had the pivot point around the tray level to balance it.

On my wagon the pivot point is roughly in line with fuel filler hole

I didn't know exactly where the pivot point was going to end up so the mounts were made to be adjustable.
as it rotates, the centre becomes apparent.. once balanced they turn around easily.
the adjustable mount also makes it easier to load and unload.

And as you add things like chassis rails the centre of gravity also shifts.  I found this out as well. |

Good info guys thanks... as im in the middle of designing my own ( meaning making it up as I go )

I have a few good photos in my thread "it has begun,but will it continue?" (can someone attach the link?)As mentioned,it all depends what is still attached to the car (diff etc) and also if it is a sedan,wagon or ute.I found there is round circle stamped into the fire wall directly behind the engine which seemed to be spot on in line as far as pivot point goes.Back one was just above the fuel filler.Cheers,Jamie.

Thanks again guys... good info.. I went ahead and built a rotisserie .. adjustable as suggested. Ill get the shell on it next weekend and then hopefully post some pictures |
