We kicked off this morning from Eastern Creek, "on the road again". Dad & I are travelling in the Ol' Girl, with Geoff & Margaret in Gertie.

Someone spotted us on the Hume, and posted the pic on the FE-FC Enthusiast Facebook page:

Morning Tea at Marulan, then a dog sat on our lunch. We were going to have a quick stop at the Ettamogah at Table Top, but now that's bypassed, so we kept on going until we reached our destination for the night, beautiful Wangaratta.

As always, Lester, Chris, Anthony and Daryl made us feel welcome, and we had a great night at the Pinsent Hotel.

Odometer at the start (home) was 69,207 (that's original). Total today about 380 miles.

Tomorrow should be a doddle, only 160 miles or so to Melbourne. I'm dropping Dad off at Tullamarine, so he can fly home again. (He's coming back in a fortnight with Mum in his FC - this trip's just for the boys.) But for me it's down to Port Melbourne, pump the tyres up to 200psi, drop the outboard and ...

Or maybe I'll just board the Spirit of Tasmania. We'll see.

Unfortunately there is limited phone coverage Roll Eyes across Bass Strait, so I was unable to provide an update on Sunday night.

We got off to an early start, battled through torrential rain around Seymour, and made it to Tullamarine in plenty of time for Dad's return flight. See you in a couple of weeks, mate!

We all filled in time during the day catching up with various Melbourne-based friends, and reconvened at the Pier. Tony came down for a bit of a chat and to see us off.

Here we are getting on the boat. It's a big boat.

I'm pleased to be able to report the sea journey was no bumpier than the Indian Pacific. I slept reasonably well and at 6.30am we disembarked into a dark and cool Devonport.

We made our way to Launceston, where we found Motors Pty Ltd - the old site and the new - and some other interesting things. More on that in my next post. Right now I have to go and collect The Boss and the kids from the airport...

Hi Richard,

We did see the Family Van with lights flashing and internal waving on the Road to the Batman Bridge.
Trust all is well with you, our version of your Elk Blue FE, certainly got your attention.

See you in Hobart, if not before, as we drift down the east coast.

Cheers, Geoff & Sue
