This is the relevant page. I would think the eye to eye length would be much shorter than 48 inches off the car  |

Ken, you are correct, the unloaded spring length is 45 1/2" with the bend in the spring. The measurement in the book relate to the flat spring length.

Then what is the measurement from eye to eye of a standard spring OFF the car? |

Nes, the 45 1/2" measurement is off car, although my springs are still on the rear end. There is no load on them although they are in the air. I'll turn them over and see if there is any difference.
