I have looked at a lot of threads and have seen many ways of doing things. I have always thought that when patching rust (as I have done myself previously) I have usually used a little grinder to make a squarish patch or rounded to some degree but i am not sure if others like Jamie do triangle and pointier shapes because they are skilled because I thought the metal would pull/stretch more and give a distorted finish. If I had 2 corners of rust, I think its overkill to do reskinning unless it is really bad because it isnt keeping it as original as possible.
Anyone have any thoughts or tips on this apart from the usual, doing tacs opposite etc.
When you remove the skin you will more than likely find more rust under the skin I fitted a NOS front door to MR FC only to have a rust bubble come out 2 years later car was rust proofed and always indoors
every FC door skin I have fitted has had rust pits on the shell and needed some repair ......FC427.......
