I am looking for a 12 volt battery, Brand / Make name - that wouldn't look too much out of place in my FE. The orignal was referred to as a 'tar top' I believe. I'm aware of a company Globe Batteries in Padstow NSW that may have them. Has anyone purchased from there, and do they look the part. Any info greatly appreciated. I'm in W.A.

"Tar topper" batteries are on Facebook and federal batteries in your state are a supplier.

John - I bought a reconditioned original battery for my FE about 3 months ago from Ariel Batteries in Melbourne. I think they still had one or two left. They have rebuilt a 6V tar top for me a number of times and always do a good job. Battery is posted dry. All you need to do is get it filled with acid. Speak to either Gerald or Neil. Tel: (03) 9481 5731.

Cheers... Ken
