Having a look in the FE shop manual the gearbox oil capacity is one and two thirds pints (imperial)
a quick conversion

1.66 pint U.S = .785 Litres
1.66 pint U.K = .943 Litres

So 1 Litre should be enough for hoons theory  Cheesy
The book says Grade Oil Recommended   S.A.E.  90 Straight run mineral oil

I am sure others will have their favourite oil, this is just whats in the manual
