Hi Forum,

After some advice please?

I am considering an FE that has a crack in the Front Subframe Tie / Cross Member, I am yet to see a photo but I am told it is not due to rust.

I know there is a replacement panel. Is this member basically an un-bolt, and bolt back in item?

How involved would the replacement be? ie support of the front end, does the front end need to come off?

Thank you

This is a weld in piece and you would need to be competent to attempt it as it is a structural piece. It is unusual if it is cracked not due to rust - I would want to find out why it is cracked.
