G'day Mick

Loved the photos they brought back memories. The sign on the Flag Inn Motel says Ingham so that's a

long way north. The Bruce Highway was pretty ordinary in those days . It was called the crystal Highway

because of the amount of broken windscreen glass beside it. The canvas water bag was fairly common

before the days of polystyrene coolers. In many cases it was simply attached to the grill with a couple

of hooks made from fencing wire. The bracket on your grandfathers car is very up market. He must have

loved his cars. The water bar was hung from the top part attached by a couple of leather straps like

small dog collars through those two loops you can see on the bracket. You attached it before you

headed of on a long trip and the evaporation kept it cool.
