Hi
My left hand rear axle is leaking onto the brake shoes and then leaking on to the ground
where do you buy the seals from [rare spares?] and are they easy to repair

CBC bearings do a rear kit or any good bearing joint.

Easy to get off sit it on a block of steel and hit both sides of the collet with a coal chisel dont mark the axle but hitting both sides makes the collet loose and you will need a shop press to get the new collet on if you take it to a local mechanic and simply let them press it on.

Or if the bearing is O.K you can replace the seal in the diff housing.
Rares should have the seal and they're easy to repair.

Try Repco or Bursons - they usually stock the seals

I am unsure of your location but Nepean Spares at St Marys would be able to sort you out
