Had an issue the other day when putting the grey engine back into my project. The issue im having is the drag link hitting the sump when on full lock.
So ive got the HR disc front end and the full HR steering links ect with a Grey. Question being, what drag link do I need? I still have the fc one I can dig out or is there a better upgraded one
Thanks for you help

A simple solution would be to space the engine mounts with some plates [I'm thinking 3mm on rears maybe more on the front].We would also cut a piece of sheet metal to cap the front engine mount to protect it from oil and heat .Haydn

Just modify the sump, and keep the HR drag links and steering std.
Much better that original FE-FC.
Worked for me in the 70's.

I tend to agree, there is room for a trim to make it fit and the HR drag links are worth keeping. You could refit the original FE FC drag links and all will fit without any mods, but they are a much poorer drag link than the HR ones.

Mark ,seriously I don't think you need to lift that motor much to clear the sump . Find something thin [like MDF or 3ply] and undo the front mount and lift the engine till it clears the link .Like I said a piece of 50mmx6mm flat bar drilled to match the underside of the front engine mount and placed between the mount and the outrigger. If that isn't enough , then look at the rear. Let us know how you go with it .Cheers Haydn
