My fuel gauge lettering is looking crappy and I was wondering if there was a template or something that you could redo the painted letters ?

Two options:

1.  Repro lettered glass.  Available from Phil Illfield in Newcastle, 02 4946 9729.  Has original LHS and RHS ($30 ea), or RHS to suit Wilsonia ($40).

2.  Lettering decals.  Available from John Wanner in Vic Club.  Not sure of current price, were $30/pair a few years ago.

Both options require pulling apart of the relevant instrument, since the decal is fitted to the back of the glass.  (i.e. remove original glass, clean off remainder of old lettering with turps, apply decal and refit.)

Hope that helps,

Hi Jamie

You must have been reading my mind as i was going to contact you and see if you needed any.

I got some done by the sticker guy at the Brickworks for the Van's guages and PRNDL. They are the correct size, font etc and are done in reverse sticky so they go on the inside of the lenses.

I'm just about to organise some more for myself soon to have as spares if ever my original print decides to fall off after 54 years! I figure it has to give up at some stage!

If you're interested let me know and I'll get a couple of extras done for you at the same time - consider it a donation to your project!
