Bolt on Rear Disc Brakes from Hoppers Stoppers

Hi Folks,

I drove a friends FC on the weekend that had disc brakes all round. Needless to say, I was very impressed with how the brakes performed. Given that my wagon will be a daily driver and will be used for towing on a regular basis, I'd like to do the same to mine. My vehicle currently has a HR disc front end and HR drum rear.

Does anybody have any experience or comment to make on this or a similar setup? Would there be any reason I couldn't use it on an FC or HR diff? Failing that, my other option would be a shortened Commodore diff.

I tried searching for similar topics in the archives but they all seem to be focused on the Commodore rear ends

I guess I could comment on it since I helped design and build it.

Severely limited on a narrow wheel welled car since the handbrake is Camaro and is quite bulky. The rear rotors go onto a redrilled HR axle in your case and the brackets attach to the original backing plate bolts. The calipers are bolted to the brackets and work very well.  As I said the limitation is with the handbrake. The kit was designed for HQ and later cars principally with big wheel wells.
Having said that we did fit it to early Holdens and plenty of Mustangs which also have narrow bodies

Thanks Ken, after reading your posts from past brake threads I was kind of hoping you might comment 

I'll give Hoppers a call to enquire about costs. That will probably be the deciding factor between the bolt on kit .Vs. the shortened commodore route at the end of the day
