Hi all,

I am having an engine freighted over from New South Wales to Tasmania, and I am wondering how I can go about getting the motor insured for the ride over. Shannon's won't cover it, nor will the freight carrier. Any suggestions?

Kind regards,

Josh

Josh,

Some freight handlers do have their own warranty schemes.  I have used Pack & Send and they offer cover for goods they transport.  There is info on the P & S site.

Good luck with it.

Cheers

Don't know if this Mob do insurance nor if they freight to Tassie but I've found they are a very cheap freight company and have heard from a few blokes that they are very good with parts that they have received.

My suggestion would be find another freight carrier.  They can't be too flash if they can't even offer freight insurance.  Otherwise, you might be able to organise something through your own insurance company.

I have used Tasfreight a few times, but with small things - and have had mates using them too, with positive results.

This is who I would like to use again, but forking out a few thousand on a motor makes me slightly nervous without insurance...

Pack and Send offer insurance but the quote was over $500 to get it over here. Still that's a small price to pay...
