Hi all,

I am at a stage where I where I am choosing a gearbox for my FC - I know that I want a 5 speed, and I want a box with nicely spaced ratios and is pretty much bullet proof.

I've spoken to Mal Wood Automotive, who recommended the TKO. Not a cheap exercise by any means. A mate of mind suggested that a Supra box is the would to go, as it is considerably cheaper to purchase and obtain parts for, but the ratios wouldn't be as complimentary as the Tremec.

The box is to go behind a high powered Red motor with a Borg Warner disc brake rear end (I've forgotten the ratio at the moment).

This is my first rebuild and I want to do it right the first time - I want the car set up for a six, but I want the driveline to be able to handle an eight if I decide to drop one in later on down the track.

Does anyone have any thoughts, advice, or alternative suggestions?

Kind regards,

Josh

Thanks Mark,

I forgot about the TT supra box, as well as the Getrag box. They would both be suited to the application as they are suited to torquey motors. How would you get around the electronic brain though?  Huh

Cheers,

Josh
