I am trying to find out the correct location and method for mounting old style (non-retractable) rear seat belts in my FE wagon.
The 'c' pillar will need a crush tube/spacer of some sort Huh and I'm not sure if the middle lap belt brackets should be located on the sides of the transmission tunnel or the flat part of the floor? Anyone done one before?

Hi rabbitoh,

I've got rear belts mounted but inertia style.

If you choose to use the pillar, simply cut a slot down the back of the pillar, then slide a 10mm plate in there, tap the appropriate thread and done.  I stitch welded my plates in as well.

for the metal cover just drill an oversize hole and allow enough room for the belt to move.

I think most bolts have a shoulder so you can even shim under the shoulder to ensure you dont squash the metal cover.

you can also mount your belts on the inner guard I suppose.

I located the middle belts on the flat part under the seat.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
