FE Sedan in York Motor Museum WA.

This sedan has an unusual paint scheme on the rear quarter panels.  Part of the extensive collection housed at York and Fremantle Motor Museums in Western Australia.



Another Holden I found interesting while I was there was one of the 48-215 prototypes.  It is registered as a 1946 or 1947 Chevrolet and is reputedly the first prototype assembled in Australia.  The earlier ones were built in USA.

Shayne - I saw that 48-215 last year when we visited WA. Unfortunately for the current owner it is missing its ID plate and therefore cannot be absolutely confirmed as the No 4 prototype. The fact that it has the original rego plates "KJ 400" and several signs of having been hand made would seem to put it beyond too much doubt. It was first registered in September 1947 and like the other prototypes, had a Canadian Chevrolet engine.

Yes Ken,
There was enough circumstantial evidence about the grey car to convince me of its authenticity as a prototype.  I'd be pretty happy to have it in my shed.  Amazing what a difference a little ID plate can make...
