Just picked up a very early '56 FE from original owners - No rust anywhere in the shell but a bit of surface rust in the paint. Very nice interior with mint floor mat and carpet in the rear. Paint is Huron Green over Ocean Mist Green.

Some interesting stuff on the car include the original invoice showing that the accessories fitted were front and rear mudflaps, oil filter and Cyclone weathershield.  I was not aware that the dealerships fitted a competitors accessory rather than the Nasco approved one.

Nice pick up Ken, isn't it the same colours as Leon Spicers 'FE from Trundle'??

Looks like great raw material for a resto - is that what you plan to do with it?

Hey Ken.
Looks to be a nice score.
From the look of that red dirt, it was a country car.
Keep us updated on your plans and any progress.

Here is a pic of the last rego sticker - 1972! Shocked

and a pic of the ID plate

The car has 67,000 original miles only in its 18 years of use.
Has those really unusual aircraft seat belts fitted - I've seen a pic somewhere in a mag I will try and dig up

I haven't tried to start it yet and really don't have any solid plans for it. My daughter wants an FE with a Detroit kit so may go that way. I may run it as it is with the patina look like fe hotrods FC
or may sell it on if I was persuaded that way.
Here are a couple of photos from the boot showing the side trims and the remarkably clean boot floor. Note that the wheel well colour is different from the black in the rest of the boot.

Wow, that is less than how long I have owned my car......amazing.
Those AVENG safety belts are extremely rare, and period perfect.
Manufactured by Aviation and Engineering Supplies in Sth Melb.
(But you probably knew that anyway)

These cars are so important as a reference to others. That wheel well sure seems unusual.

Its also interesting to see the inner 1/4 trims in place, those things are great rust attractors!! I remember seeing these on Wayne Skuse's grey FE  and wondering how any of this model survived without the rear lower 1/4's rusting away to nothing.

Go the patina look and preserve the originality  Smiley

Nice car Ken.

It'd be nicer if it was Elk Blue..... Wink Grin

Here is its sister, body number 2208, assembled in Brisbane. I'm guessing the bodies were around 3 days apart?

It has the same jack top you refer to:
