Kevin - I had a bit of fun at the Show & Shine - set up a used car yard from the olden days.

4  Technical Board / General Technical / Faded writing on FE ute on: January 25, 2022, 04:06:19 PM
The faded writing in the image appears on the driver side panel of an FE ute.  It says ALBURY at the top, but what do the letters and numbers below mean?

Thanks for any assistance.

Cheers

I bought one of the Qld made 2 piece units some years ago.  Here are the fitting instructions that came with it.

I have lost the lower bracket.  Does anyone have one of these and could they make a template to send to me please?

Cheers

GP tells me:

From left, Siggy Moseneder (now resides in the USA with his FE), Colin Tierney maybe sipping on a coffee and Samantha Tierney standing in front of him, John Tonkin, Tim Miller, Dave Campbell with dark glasses and moustache

Sounds brilliant.  You've got to love an original car.  It is hard to imagine how it can have done so few miles between 1958/9 and 1985, but if you don't drive it then that is possible.

It would be great to see it at Broken Hill for the Nationals at Easter 2022.

12  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Speedo going crazy on: April 15, 2020, 05:42:42 PM
Maybe I should get onto mine as well.  Then that would lead to working out why the dash light doesn't work, would lead to replacing the sieve that is the windscreen rubber that keeps out no rain at all, would lead to there is some rust that needs looking at there, would lead to maybe touch up the paint, would lead to there is more rust there to sort out first, would lead to I'm doing a whole resto because the speedo was making a noise and whirring about in the cold weather.  No - that could never happen, could it?

I'll just go back into denial and put up with a dodgy speedo.

13  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Speedo going crazy on: April 13, 2020, 08:37:56 AM
This is a common occurrence.  First try lubricating the cable.  There is a previous post in the technical board called “Speedo question” posted in November 2009 that gives more detail on what to do.  I can’t copy the link to it, but someone else may be able to do so.

My speedo has done this on and off for years but never broken or stopped working.

17  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Attention all entrants!!! on: February 02, 2018, 11:06:21 AM
Hi everyone,

Thanks to all those who have entered the 17th FE-FC Holden Nationals in Canberra at Easter 2018.  The committee is excited about what a good event we have in the planning.

By now just about everyone who has sent an entry should have heard back from me with an entry number, or where payment is not yet in the account, an email asking for payment to be made.

If you do not have an email address, the receipt & entry number has been posted to you.

If you have entered and not heard back, please get in touch with me, either by Private Message through the forum, or by email to the address nats2018 AT fefcholden.org.au  We are worried that posted entries may not have reached us because of issues with Australia Post being SO slow and other issues.

Check your emails first, but get back to me if you are concerned about whether we have your entry.

Cheers, and see a whole lot of you in Canberra!

18  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Re: Nats entry payment query on: December 14, 2017, 08:09:28 AM
Hello Surferboy - I have sent you a PM.

For everyone else - please ensure you use the banking and postage details that appear on the entry form that is on the Nationals website.  Our bank stuffed us about and early versions of the entry form do not have correct details on them unfortunately.

The link to the website is:  http://fefcholden.club/nats17/

Go to the "Entry Form" page and click on the PDF or Word links on that page to get the current entry form.

Anyone with any queries or concerns is welcome to send me a PM.

All entrants to date whose payment has been received should have received an email with a receipt this week.  PM me or send the Nationals email address an email if you think you should have heard from me and haven't or if you have any other queries about entry etc.

The entries are rolling in, and more are very welcome.  There are a few gurus on this site who are yet to get their entry in - looking forward to hearing from you all!!

Cheers
David
19  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Re: 17th FE FC Nationals Canberra 2018 website on: November 21, 2017, 08:25:48 AM
Hi everyone,

Thanks for the interest and comments.  Yes - we are definitely keeping track of the club that entrants belong to, and will check with the various clubs closer to the event to ensure that all entrants are eligible.

If anyone has any queries about eligibility to enter, please check out the website and feel free to email the organising committee on

with any queries in that regard.  We will be happy to link you up with an eligible club if required.  We are looking to encourage people to attend and not make it difficult for those who haven't been part of a club.  There are some rules that govern how the event operates which we need to abide by, but we will do what we can to assist anyone wanting to enter to become eligible if that is an issue.

Likewise any other queries, please email the committee and we will get you an answer.

Cheers

Hello Surferboy & Cathy,

An important thing missing from your list - send off entry form and payment!!  Shocked

Entries are coming in nicely, including from WA - none from Tassie yet - come on Tassie.  Kiss

See you in Canberra at Easter!  Smiley

Cheers
