Hi All,

Here is the flyer advertising the event and we hope the final auction list will be up in the next day or so. We will have the usual pies & hotdogs for sale to keep you sustained during the auction and the parts stall tables will be available from 5pm to 7pm for those looking for a bargain early. We have another terrific batch of items up for auction again this year and we are looking forward to seeing you there.

G'day Mike,

My FC is a 59 model and I think the original rego was HBY-644 so pretty close to yours. I'd have to check the body number etc, the rego might just mean it was registered later than some others. Derrick

Historic Winton
Historic Winton Honouring the Past - Australia’s largest and most popular all-historic motor race meeting presents a weekend of non-stop racing featuring over 400 historic racing cars and motorbikes from the 1920s to the 1980s. 

Celebrations at the 39th Historic Winton include anniversaries:
•   100 years - Morris Cowley
•   90 years - Ford Australia, Chrysler, Invicta
•   80 years - Talbot Lago, Morris 8
•   70 years - MG TC, Bristol, Riley RM
•   60 years - Peugeot 403, Fiat 600, Triumph TR3, Citroen DS19, Jaguar Mk1, Sunbeam Rapier, MGA, Mercedes Benz 190 SL, Rolls Royce Silver Cloud, Karmann Ghia, Toyota Crown
•   50 years - XP Falcon, HD Holden, Peugeot 204, Renault 16, Triumph 1300

Historic Winton displays:
•   Shannons Classic Car Park featuring car and bike clubs
•   a FordFest honouring 90 years of Ford Australia and featuring vehicles produced here between 1925 and 1980
•   Australian Grand Prix Aussie Specials
•   Historic Motorbikes:  the Big 3 - Triumph, Harley-Davidson and Indian
•   Historic Commercial Vehicles
•   Spectator access to the Competition Paddock with fabulous old racing machines on open display
•   and if you have a Classic or Special-Interest car or bike, park in the Spectator Display Area.

Raceway entry fees:    Sat $25, Sun $35, weekend $50, comp paddock $5, children 16 and under n/c

Our club has again received an official invitation from the Austin 7 Club and we have received
A limited number of tickets for Saturday and Sunday to display our FE-FC’s for FREE.
Tickets will be distributed on a first come first served basis and I’m sure they’ll be popular.

There is a designated camping area at the track with modern toilet and shower facilities and a BBQ area however, the sites are unpowered but you can bring a generator. I’ve been told there is plenty of room so no urgency to pre-book and it costs around $25 per head per night, with children about half that price.

Please let us know at the May meeting if you plan to attend, a sheet will be available and you can note if you will be camping at the track. Alternatively you can text Derrick on 0416 200 978 or email Derrick  droberts@airmaster.com.au if you are planning to attend.

Hi Graeme, not too sure yet but it will be a leisurely drive of at least 3 days I imagine. We are booked in from Thurs- leaving Tue morn. Might do the theme parks with the boys, not sure yet. We will likely run a couple of convoys from VIC as different people have different lengths of time off to attend.  Derrick

Jox was getting along at a fair clip on the track too, I was struggling to get close enough to get a picture. Apparently you can apply filters to your pictures. I didn't know that I wasn't looking at the phone.

I saw those on ebay too, current bid is $295 so they might go for less than the $480 originally asked.

Saw the ute about 1986-87, very early on in the Summernats history. I think it was before the prawn mornings. Sunday arvo bands in the beer garden was about the era.  Grin

YES.....

I am still in awe of this great ute I saw many moons ago shred a set of rear tyres one Sunday afternoon at Charnwood Tavern in ACT. The noise and the smoke generated by a blown Holden six is still etched in my memory and will be forever.
