It's the way all Forums are going. People are turning to social media, FaceBook Groups & Pages, Twitter and Instagram to get what they want. I used to visit this Forum every day, now lucky if I read it once a month, so I guess I'm one to blame and sadly I won't miss it until it's gone.
The Internet is constantly changing, fads and trends only last a short time. If nothing changed we would all be driving 48-215s or horse and carts.

For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: Windscreen Washer Vacuum Pump

This is one of them pulled apart. As you can see the only thing wrong, that needs fixing, is the rubber diaphragm. It has perished, and become soft squishy rubber, sticky to the touch with no elasticity to flex up and down when a vacuum is applied. It also leaked water through the Rubber diaphragm into the vacuum side which allowed water to get into the inlet manifold.

Thanks Harv, I have managed to pull it apart, two of them. They are not soldered, the brass opens up fairly easily and I'm sure I can close it again. The rubber diaphragm is quite badly perished, but I think a neoprene one could be made with little effort. I just don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone has gone through the process.

And / or ...... does anyone know if they can be repaired? All I need is a new rubber diaphragm for inside. Original ones that have been sitting a long time are perished and either have splits that allow water to return down the vacuum line into the manifold or are fused to the brass water side and cannot be budged.
Thanks

$1,500 seems a lot, until you think about it.
I bought one $200, spent $200 on it so far (not counting hours of labour), still got $200 to spend on it to buy glass, rubber and paint. So I think it's not a bad price if it has been restored by Lowline.
Sorry mine is in VIC and not for sale.

I just sold two at the last Bendigo Swap. 1 Quart and 1 Pint embossed with Castrol logo, tin tops $220. Maybe too cheap, I could have sold them ten times over at that price!!!

An x-ray will show the chassis number has been welded in.
Another scenario .......... Someone steels your $30,000 fully restored FC, obtains an old rusted out paddock find, the type you see in pics here all the time, and swaps over the tags and welds in the chassis number into your stolen car, and re-registers it as a newly restored car.
Vic Roads (and other authorities) have to have some way of knowing what is stolen and what is not.
When I registered my Ute, I had no way of proving it was not stolen so Vic Roads simply accepted a signed Stat Declaration from me ...... too easy!!!
