Rob, this thread is a bit like a novel you can't put down. Each episode displays yet another confronting challenge that eclipses the last, while drawing even more from the main hero in each episode. I admire your stamina - it would have driven me to tears by now. Thanks for sharing how it really is, warts & all.

This page describing the differences between the 3 paint styles shows the tail-fin extended right up to front-most edge of "C" pillar from mid 1959.

Guys with the steering wheels. What are people using for the silver band in between the 2 colours?
Cheers
Graham

I used silver Pinstriping off eBay. Applied before the paint & clear coat, no bumps can be felt.

Well here she is finished and registered ..( sun visor yet to be ready ) ..2 years 7 months 18 days from purchase to rego. She has done about 80 kms on road so far so good..Firstly a big thank you to all the club members who have given advice ,assistance ,parts and encouragement.
It certainly is a unique feeling ,hard to explain, nostalgia, pride ,having something special ( excuse pun ),satisfaction ,having something not only enthusiasts love and cherish ,but the Australian public at large do also ,everyone knows what a Holden is ..Thanks again see you on the next club run ...Vern .

I speculate they are from obriens p

Yes, I believe they are the only manufacturer. They supply RS & other outlets.
I bought one from them direct & it's a quality item.
Postage from SA wasn't a problem & it arrived safely in appropriate packing.
