1  Galleries / Project Cars - FEs and FCs Under Construction / Re: Jolls FC Ute Project on: November 03, 2023, 01:47:20 AM
I used rare spares brake light light globe holders, front an rear. Only problem I had was getting orange/ white led globes that were short enough not to touch the lense on the rear.  Apart from that they are real cool especially the front as they are a very bright white so can be seen in the daytime and when the indicators goes of or on the white light kind of dims down then up and really easy to see. Also a decent light to reverse with which sheds a fair amount of light.

I have just finished wire my reverse lights, indicators and park lights on my FC ute. I left all the clear/white lenses in and used switch back led globes, indicators flash orange and reverse and park lights are white light. I did have to put a different flasher can that senses the load from the LEDs

Probably not a bad thing as plastic sometimes shrinks a bit.

7  General / General Board / Re: Advice please on: September 11, 2022, 03:06:27 PM
A good read. I think discs are a must up front. My ute had drums all around okay for a once a week drive but any more you soon get, well I did sick of anticipating other drivers moves. If you are planning long drives and you go the stock route expect it to be a long drive.

It looks like you aren't so good don't rush in good cars do come up. As already said if rusty stay away the more you dig the more you will find and might easily outweigh the purrchase price of the car to fix, same for paint.

Thank you for the information, especially the tip about the sponge.

9  Technical Board / General Technical / Headlining padding on: April 30, 2022, 01:13:26 AM
I am about to put the new headlining in my ute. My question is did the Utes have padding on the header panel the inner panel above the windscreen where the visors fit, b pillars and rear inner panel above the rear window? I know Toranas do but I am not sure of FCs.

Thanks in advance Dave

15  Technical Board / General Technical / Rear shock absorbers FC ute on: October 22, 2021, 11:11:23 PM
Trying to decide what rear shock absorbers to purchase for my FC ute and seem to find FB EK but not many options when it comes to FC. Will FB EK fit?

Thanks in advance.
16  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Fe scuff plates on: June 17, 2021, 08:37:40 PM
I bought a set of FC scuff plates from Sam, great product and a great gentleman to deal with.

Cheers Dave

I would give Warbatons a call in Vic I believe they are good to deal with and maybe even with freight hopefully they would be cheaper than that rip off.

Agree totally.
18  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: V6 to V8 Conversion on: February 28, 2021, 01:45:49 AM
It will I interesting to see how you go. My understanding is no way will you get an FC licensed with anything over 4.2 litres in WA.
19  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: Wanted: early Holden collapsible column on: July 18, 2020, 01:23:01 AM
I had my column converted to collapsible by George, very happy with the end product. He is also great to deal with.
20  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: FC ute doors on: May 02, 2020, 01:55:16 AM
I picked up the outer door seals for the ute today, they are half right. They have no mitred corner at the top rear curve of the door window frame so will fit nicely around the curve. But rear edge around waistline height down the seal profile is a problem as it does not protrude enough. Post number two by Adiesse is spot on.

If anyone has a chance it would be handy to have a pick of a ute showing the inner seal not the wind lacing.

Thanks for the info and discussion
